David J. Ward, Esq. is originally from Bergen County, located in northern New Jersey. He spent most of his childhood in Franklin Lakes until he moved to Brussels Belgium when he was ten. He lived in Brussels for two and a half years before returning to Franklin Lakes. He remained in Franklin Lakes until just before he started college, when his family moved to Wilmington North Carolina.
Dave began his undergraduate studies at Iowa State University, where he studied Pre-Veterinary Medicine. In 1995, he decided to transfer to North Carolina State University and change his major to Business Management. He graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Business Management and duel concentrations in Operations and Finance.
Immediately after Dave graduated he began working as a financial planner. Within a short time, Dave had established himself as a top consultant in the large multi-national corporation he started working at in 1999. By 2000, he was working as a case consultant to planners all over the country, including some of the organizations top financial planners.
Dave began seriously considering law school in the summer of 2000. He immediately took the LSATs and applied. He was accepted to the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and began his studies in the fall of 2001. During his law school career, Dave worked as a research assistant to Richard A. Lord, the revising editor of Williston on Contracts, a nationally recognized treatise on contract law; and as a member of the Campbell Law Review. In addition, Dave competed, regionally and nationally, as a member of Campell's Moot Court and Trial Teams; and served as a two- term dean of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.
Dave graduated with honors in May of 2004. In addition to his core class work, he also completed the requirements for Campbell's Advocacy Track. He was also honored with an award for distinguished service to the class of 2004 and was admitted into the Order of Old Kivett, an organization that celebrates excellence in lawyering skills while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
Dave passed the bar in July of 2004. He initially worked for a large law firm in Raleigh. He worked there for several months, until he opened the Ward Law Firm, P.A. in April 2005. Since opening the Ward Law Firm, P.A., he has helped protect the rights of hundreds of clients. His practice areas are criminal defense and civil litigation, including personal injury and workers' compensation law.
